Following ths sucess of last year's E-Learning Debate at the Oxford Union, hosted by Epic, this is taking place again this year on Wednesday 6 October. This year's motion is:
This house believes that technology-based informal learning is more style than substance.
Speaking FOR the motion is Dr Allison Rossett, Professor of Educational Technology at San Diego University.

And from the numbr of tweets, it appears this is becoming a popular resourcee around the world. So here's just an update on the list so far.

Historius - social bookmarking ++
I just read about Historius - a social bookmarking tool - on The Next Web - and thought I would pass on the link.
Not ANOTHER social bookmarking tool, you are probably thinking! But the Historius website explains more:
"Do you bookmark most interesting sites and articles? If not, is it because bookmarking a lot is too tedious? If yes, how often do you go back to your bookmarks and how easy is it to find things you're looking for?
historious makes bookmarking much easier by creating your very own, personalized search world. Add sites to historious (you can use our bookmarklet or browser extensions, if you want), and your customized search will be available to search within them. The next time you want to find that interesting article about the economy, just search in historious for "economy" and all the articles about economics you saved will appear. It's as simple as that!"
TheNextWeb's posting about Historius is captioned "the bookmarking tool I’ve been waiting for has finally been built" - so if you have drifted away from bookmarking, maybe this one is worth taking a lookHistorius - social bookmarking ++

The History Chef
Suzanne Evans told me about this American history/food history blog that she bagan last year while writing a book about the presidents' favorite foods.
As an academic historian, the goal of her blog is to help parents and kids learn how to cook together, learn about history together, and hopefully help them create many great memories and meals together.
But this blog would be enjoyable for anyone - and elegantly presented too

An introduction to social media - for learning and performance enhancement
I am frequently asked for a link to an introductory guide to social media and its use for leaning and performance improvement, so here is my guide. The contents list is shown in the screenshot below. This is a social resource as it also provides the opportunity for you to provide your own experiences of using social tools for learning. You can access the contents page here.
